Zirrus: A new take on To Do lists
InterfaceThis is pleased to announce Zirrus, an alternative To Do list for the Web. Zirrus combines cutting-edge Web interactivity, the power of tag clouds, and the simplicity of a whiteboard to provide a fresh approach to task management that will appeal to the busy, the scattered, the organized, and fans of the Getting Things Done approach to life management.
- View and enter tasks quickly and easily, from anywhere.
- Put everything on your mind in your Braindump list. Put near-term tasks in your Now list.
- Set due dates and priorities. Categorize with tags.
- Overdue tasks move automatically to your Now list.
- Work with your tasks in an informative task cloud, color-coded by tag and sized by priority. Sort alphabetically, by date, or by priority.

Zirrus Not Quite There Yet…
Zirr.us is a sexy newcomer to the web-based To-do list scene enjoyed by 37Signals and activeCollab, among others. But instead of listing, they’re tagging. Your default view is a cloud, with a slider to adjust the priority (size) of each task. I …

Hi this is really a great idea and i’m using it right now but i got some things that bothers me from using it always.
Ctrl-T -> i see this as a pain, this shortcut kills my firefox functionality of creating new tabs with my keyboard. Please change this one.
Trimmed tasks -> the most important ones are cutted.. the problem is that i don’t see the full text… I need to use the mouse and go over the task to see the full description and that is time wasted.
Completed Tasks -> ok this is a thing that has to be done… where are my completed tasks?? I got to see how much i’m getting things done.
Thanks and keep going.

f0vela: Thanks for the feedback!
We have already changed Ctrl-T to N, so it shouldn’t conflict with Firefox anymore.
Trimmed tasks: We truncate long task names so you can see more of what needs doing, so in part it’s a question of finding the right balance. One additional possibility is to stop truncating in List view…would that work for you?
Completed tasks: This is #1 on our list of things to add, so stay tuned.

Amazing fast response!!
Thanks i see the change now, that works just right the “N” Shortcut is great!
About the Trimmed Tasks, yea that would work just fine in my case, You would have to see if other users think this way too.
Now with the Completed tasks, i’ll be waiting for that feature.
Thanks again for your fast response.

How can we delete or edit categories?
January 22nd, 2007 at 1:49 pm
Looks to me like only the tasks are displayed in a cloud. Can I see the tags themselves in a cloud? That seems like it’ll be useful.
Also, I tend to want to break tasks down into subtasks, but I don’t know if the cloud interface works with them. (Oh, I’ve tried outliners, but they tend to get bogged down fast, and some tasks/subtasks belong to multiple categories, so it’s hard to organize in a strictly linear fashion.)
Thanks. This has promise.

Another thing…can you do multi-word tags (e.g., tagging a task with “Bob Smith” instead of “Bob” and “Smith”)?

Hit http://zirr.us.; filled in required name and email address; left website blank because I have none; got blank page headed “zirrus::tasks. Clicked on page= no change; still blank.Clicked Open and New in Menu. Still a blank page.Felt frustrated. Took a nap.
